Abstract
Myasthenia Gravis ( MG) is an autoimmune disease in which antibodies are mediated against acetylcholine receptor in NMJ. This is a retrospective study that included a case series of 30 patients who presented with drooping of one/ both eyelids to neuro-ophthalmology department in a tertiary eye care hospital in South India, between January- April 2021. In these patients, thorough clinical examinations were done. Fatiguability , Ice pack test , RNS test, Serum Acetylcholine (Ach) receptor antibody test were also done. Out of 30 patients,26 patients were tested positive for fatiguability & ice pack test ,24 showed decremental response in RNS .Ach antibody was positive in 12 patients. 9 progressed to generalised Myasthenia Gravis.22 patients responded well to medical treatment with pyridostigmine . It shows the paramount importance to diagnose ocular MG and start treatment promptly.
