Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the effectiveness of reDALK in patients of previous failed DALK.
METHODS Seven eyes with failure of the primary DALK surgery included. The indication for repeat surgery, time elapsed since first surgery, the pre and post op BSCVA, Keratometry evaluation was done.RESULTS Indication of primary keratoplasty was keratoconus with severe Vernal keratoconjunctivitis(n=2), lipid keratopathy(n=2), salzman nodular keratopathy(n=1) and intersitial keratitis(n=1). Reason for failure of primary DALK was graft infection (1), ICK (1) recurrence of disease (2) , interface haze with vascularization (3).Time interval between first surgery and repeat ranged from two months to four years. Postoperatively, BSCVA improved from 20/120 to 20/30 at the end of one year.No complication was encountered during resurgery.CONCLUSION Prognosis for repeat DALK is excellent, and outcomes of secondary grafts were comparable to those of primary DALK grafts
