Abstract
Case presentation:
A 24-Y-old male presented with a laceration of 6cm from right eyebrow across the eyelids till the malar prominence with extensive tissue loss following RTA and was operated by plastic surgeons. Vision was RE-CF < 1m, On table ophthalmology evaluation was done which revealed periorbital ecchymosis,congestion & corneal haziness. Pupil reactioin wasn’t appreciated due to the hazy cornea. Management: Patient was reviewed in OPD for detailed ophthalmological examination under slit lamp. Revealed full thickness linear corneal tear,extending from 9 to 3 o clock, Seidel’s test was positive with leaking of fluoresceine dye.The patient underwent primary corneal suturing and post operatively had vision of CF 3m at 1 month. Conclusion: This case illustrates importance of complete ocular assessment,corneal staining,siedels test in patients with extensive periocular trauma.
