Abstract
We describe a case of 8 years old male who presented with inward deviation of left eye since birth. Squint examination revealed left eye esotropia of 50PD with 10PD of left hypertropia with overaction of inferior oblique. Also, fundus examination of same eye revealed macular scar. After squint correction surgery, signs suggestive of infectious necrotizing scleritis were seen on eleventh post-operative day. Microbiology evaluation was suggestive of bacterial etiology and was managed medically. Scleral patch graft was done later to provide tectonic support. Patient was managed successfully with amniotic membrane graft on scleral patch graft to epithelize the surface. Infectious necrotizing scleritis is a rare and serious complication following squint surgery which can be managed successfully with thorough microbiological evaluation and close clinical follow-ups.
