Abstract
Many of the times diagnosis of posterior scleritis is not considered or posterior scleritis is misdiagnosed as some other clinical entity because of its plethora of manifestations.A retrospective study was conducted from data collected from 2012 to 2020 of posterior scleritis to analyse presenting signs & symptoms of posterior scleritis,OCT features ,its systemic associations and the primary diagnosis made by referring doctor and reason for misdiagnosis in referred patients.Out of 124 patients of scleritis 19 patients had posterior scleritis(15.3%).most common presenting symptom was pain and sign was choroidal folds and subretinal mass.Various other presentations noted were disc edema, choroidal folds,ILM folds, sub retinal fluid, exudative retinal detachment, sub retinal mass, associated with anterior scleritis. Most common referring diagnosis was sub retinal mass lesion for nodular posterior scleritis.7 of 19 patients in our study were misdiagnosed.Systemic asscociation was seen in 31.5%
