Abstract
24-year-old male was referred on postoperative day 4 of PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) done elsewhere. On presentation he had bilateral dense paralimbal infiltrates. After 2 consecutive negative microbiological reports, supported with a slowly progressing clinical picture, the case was considered sterile and a trial of low potency steroids was given. Clinical improvement lead us to give aggressive steroid therapy ( under antibiotic coverage). The patient was successfully managed with a final CDVA of 6/6 in both eyes with a mild peripheral scarring of cornea after 1 month. Post PRK keratitis can be deceiving to be infective. Thorough microbiological work up to rule out infective cause along with a close clinical follow-up and timely intervention with steroid therapy can give excellent results.
