Abstract
Purpose: Evaluate correlation between inter-eye asymmetry of pachymetric data and posterior elevation values of subjects with keratoconus and in those with normal corneas.Method: Hospital-based, Observational study of 68 subjects with pentacam imaging. Keratometry at the flat and steep meridians, pachymetric data and posterior elevation at the thinnest point of the cornea of case and control measured. Inter-Eye asymmetry of pachymetry and elevation data are determined. Area under the receiver operating characteristic curve, used to compare predictive accuracy of different variables for keratoconus. Result:The mean between eyes differences were statistically significant for all of the variables when comparing the normal eyes with keratoconous eye Conclusion: There is a greater inter eye asymmetry in pachymetry and posterior corneal elevation variables in keratoconic patients than in subjects with normal corneas.
