Abstract
AbstractBACKGROUND-Retinoblastoma is the most common primary intraocular malignancy of childhood with lifelong consequences such as vision loss..PURPOSE-To determine the time interval between clinical presentation and initiation of treatment of retinoblastoma and analyse the cause of delay.METHODS- A retrospective observational study of 22 cases were done in our centre from June 2020 to September 2021.RESULTS- Out of 22 cases, 8 cases were M and 14 cases wereF. Age ranged between 7 months to 7 years. Out of these, 3 patients were in stage 1, 5 patients in stage 2 and 14 patients were in stage 3. Treatment of 14 patients were done with chemotherapy, 3 patients where enucleated, 5 patients had combined chemotherapy, radiotherapy followed by enucleation. Time between presentation and initiation of treatment was less than 30days in 3 cases, 30-60days in 14 cases and more that 60days in 5 cases.Message: A set protocol and faster investgations to minimize delay in treatment of these pts
