Abstract
AIM:To report a case of pseudophacocele in postoperative eye following cataract surgery followed by dislocation of intraocular lens implant in subconjunctival space.
Methods: A 40 year farmer presented with chief complaints of diminution in vision, pain and redness in right eye following blunt trauma by cow horn 15 days back.
Results: On ocular examination his visual acuity was hand movement close to face in right eye and 20/20 in left eye. The conjunctiva appeared to be mildly congested in right eye. A PC-IOL was seen in subconjunctival space in the perilimbal area supero-temporally.Subsequently patient underwent conjunctival peritomy with removal of PCIOL. Anatomical integrity of eye was restored by formation of anterior chamber. After 6 weeks patient underwent scleral fixation of IOL.
Conclusion:It is mandatory to remove the dislocated IOL and repair sclera so that endophthalmitis can be prevented. The main aim should be to restore integrity of eyeball.
