Abstract

One of the challenging scenario of scleral buckling procedure is RRD with posterior PVR with posterior breaks and lattice . In our case we were able to manage such case with barrage laser and scleral buckle. A 30 year young female came with the chief complaints of Floaters. RE – Lattice with hole s/p barrage laser

LE – Chronic RRD, partial macula off , fovea on with multiple HST with posterior lattice with posterior PVR

We managed this case successfully with Scleral buckle.

Posterior( subretinal) PVR and posterior pathology( HST and lattice) are challenging scenarios for SB surgery.

Scleral buckling is viable option in such selected retinal detachment with posterior Pathology ( Lattice) and sub retinal PVR especially in young phakic patients
