Abstract
We report 20 eyes who underwent pars plana vitrectomy for varied manifestations associated to TPH. These were subhyaloid hemorrhage(10), tractional macular edema(4), tractional retinal detachment TRD(4), vitreo macular traction(2). All underwent 23G pars plana vitrectomy with hyaloid levation using forceps or cutter. Additional procedures like endolaser, membrane dissectiin and tampnade (7). Preoperative AntiVegf was used in 4 cases and intraoperative in 4. Pre operative mean decimal visual acuity was 0.05+_0.058 and post operative there was improvememt to 0.34+_ 0.17. One patient required vitreous lavage for recurrent vitreous hemorrhage. The macular edema resolved in 3 cases and required repeat injection in one. One case of TRD had extensive bleed post operatively and resurgery was done. One case had iris neovascularisation presurgeey that resolved after 2 months. Taut hyaloid can cause various clinical manifestations which need surgical management.
