Abstract

Aim: To notify case of sixth nerve palsy in case of herpes zoster

Case : A 66 year old male patient not had any systemic disease like hypertension, diabetes came with complain of diplopia since 1 month . he had p/h/o herpes zoster six month back taken treatment for keratouvietis and photo coagulation for vasculitis in right eye. On examination abduction was restricted in right eye .MRI was advised to rule out intracranial lesions.

Result:

Vascular loop in AICA was found in MRI. HZV leads to sixth nerve involvement.

Conclusion:

viral infection will leads to nerve palsy.
