Abstract
Purpose: The aim was to study clinical presentation of space occupying lesions in orbital cavity in tertiary care centre.Methods: It was prospective hospital based study in which patients of all age group with orbital disorders who attended for first time and gave consent were selected. All patients underwent detailed ocular examination including vision assessment, slit lamp examination and fundus examination. Results:Most common presenting age of orbital disorders was children ranging between 0-10 years(25.89%) followed by young adults ranging between 21-30 years(19.64%).57 were males(50.89%) and 55 were females(49.11%).95(84.82%) presented with most common clinical presentation of protrusion of eye,which was followed by defective vision in 46(41.07%) and swelling/mass in eye in 38(33.92%) cases.Conclusion: Orbital space occupying lesions are very common in this part of country.The facilities for referral to tertiary centre need to be strengthened in order to treat lesions in time.
