Abstract
Choroidal melanoma is the 2nd most common intraocular tumour and the most common primary intraocular malignancy in adults. An 81 year old elderly male presented with swelling in the LE since 3 months associated with diminution of vision, watering, pain and discharge and noticed blood oozing from LE since 1 week. Unaided visual acuity in RE was 6/36 and LE was no PL. LE anterior segment showed an intraocular mass with everted eyelid margins and diffuse congestion and no view of fundus. Plain CT orbit showed hypodense mass involving the eye inferior and lateral recti in the left orbit with no erosion of surrounding bone. Provisional diagnosis was LE choroidal melanoma and the patient underwent LE lid sparing exenteration. The mass was sent for histopathology examination for confirmation of diagnosis.
