Abstract
54 year old male admitted with complaints of mass in lateral 2/3rd of left lower eyelid since 1 year associated with and white cheesy discharge from mass since last 4 months. Mass was insidious in onset,non-reducible,painless, initially skin colored which turned black,size of a pea (5mmx5mm) which gradually increased to size of a small marble (35mmx30mm) in a year.
ocular examination Va RE UA FC-2mt A 6/36 parts PH NI LE UA 5/60 A 6/12 parts PH NI BE PR accurate, on inspection mass was black in color covered with necrotic tissue involving margin of the lower lid and the underneath palpebral conjunctiva,size: 3.5cmx2.5cmx1cm,irregular shape,multiple lobulated, ill-defined with ulcerated margins,firm consistency,fixed to underlying skin,madarosis. Patient was managed by excision of the mass in toto with 3mm of free margin and lid reconstruction by modified Hughes technique. Histopathology of the mass confirmed to be Basal Cell Carcinoma infected with MRSA confirmed on culture of pus.
