Abstract

A retrospective study comparing the visual outcomes of 2 monofocal IOL’s Tecnis 1 (ZCB00) and Tecnis Eyhance (ICB00). A total of 60 eyes (30 each group) fitting the inclusion and exclusion criteria, which underwent phaco emulsification have been analyzed. Eyes with any pathology excluded from the study. Number of males and females in T1 group is 15 and 15 while in Eyhance group is 14 and 16. 3 week postoperative near and distant corrected visual acuity have been analyzed. No significant difference in the distance BCVA. Mean spherical equivalent for T1 is -0.25D±0.33 and for eyhance its -0.14D±0.4 (p=0.25). Average near add for tecnis 1 and eyhance are +2.26D±0.36 and +1.79D±0.31 respectively(p<0.001). By the above results we can conclude that the unique anterior surface of eyhance IOL with continuous increase in power from the periphery to the center of the lens gives better near vision with low near add and is more forgiving for the residual refractive errors relative to tecnis 1.
