Abstract
Aim: To compare the IOP readings taken by Rebound Tonometry (RBT-iCare) with Goldman Applanation Tonometry (GAT) & their correlation with Central Corneal Thickness (CCT).
Material Method: This is a cross sectional observational study. IOP was recorded by RBT then GAT & CCT were also noted. Patients with any ocular surface disorder or posterior segment pathology & patients who were unwilling were excluded from the study. The IOP values were compared & were correlated with CCT.
Result: 200 eyes of 100 patients were recorded and the mean IOP reading by RBT & GAT was 14.40 + 3.15 & 14.87 + 3.06 mmHg, respectively. The IOP difference between RBT & GAT was statistically insignificant (P = 0.068). The mean CCT was 511.1 µm. Both tonometers show a statistically significant correlation with CCT [P < 0.0001]. Conclusion: RBT can be considered a reliable method of IOP measurement as compared to GAT across all range of CCT. CCT influences the IOP values & is to be kept in mind while evaluating.
