Abstract
Purpose :- To study the effects of topical dorzolamide on central macular thickness (CMT) and resolution of subretinal fluid (SRF) in chronic CSCR patients.
Materials and methods :- 20 patients of age group 20-60 years with chronic CSCR of 3 months duration diagnosed on SD-OCT and FFA were studied during Jan 2021 to june 2021.They were treated with topical dorzolamide 4 times daily for 3 months. During treatment, detailed eye examination and SD-OCT were done to note changes in CMT and resolution of SRF at 1 and 3 months respectively. The results collected were then subjected to statistical analysis.
Results :- Patient treated with topical dorzolamide show significant reduction in CMT from baseline ( 376µm to 190µm) with (p value =0.02) and also achieved complete resolution of SRF (p value=0.03) at 3 months.
Conclusion :- Topical dorzolamide resulted in significant reduction of CMT and complete resolution of SRF in chronic CSCR patients.
