Abstract
23 year male came to the OPD for routine eye check up . Patient did not give any history of defective vision , night blindness & colour blindness .No significant family history . On examination visual acuity 6/6 , N6 and IOP was 16 mm hg in both eyes . Anterior segment examination was normal on slit lamp examination . Fundus examination revealed multiple white polymorphic flecks seen in all four quadrants in both eyes , Macula was normal . ERG was normal . From above finding, the patient was diagnosed as Benign Flecked retina in both eyes . Patient was asked to follow up after year.
Benign familial flecked retina is very rare macular / retinal dystrophy. It is a symptomatic condition and autosomal recessive in inheritance . the prognosis is excellent.
