Abstract
Idiopathic macular neovascularization (MNV) is a disorder that affects patients
younger than 50 years and can cause a severe decrease in vision.
We report a case of a 44-year-old female with no known comorbidities presented
to us with a decrease in vision in the right eye. Fundus examination revealed a
macular lesion in the right eye suggestive of macular neovascularization of no
known etiology. Optical coherence tomography and Fundus fluorescein
Angiography confirmed the presence of an MNV. A single anti-VEGF injection of
Ranibizumab helped in rapid regression of the MNV and improvement in her
visual acuity was noted.
We conclude that timely diagnosis, management, and regular follow-up can help in
regression of MNV and vision can be preserved.
