Abstract

Pseudo-Brown syndrome is a rare acquired brown syndrome that presents with symptoms and signs similar, yet different from true congenital or acquired brown syndrome. We report the clinical presentation and management of a rare case Pseudo-brown syndrome in a 9year old girl who presented with recent onset binocular diplopia with an axial proptosis of the right eye and a marked limitation of elevation in adduction. Magnetic resonance imaging of the orbits showed a fusiform lesion with central hyperintense echoes suggestive of a scolex indicating ocular cysticercosis. The child was started on systemic steroids and albendazole showing a marked resolution of the lesion on serial magnetic resonance imaging with improvement in ocular motility.
