Abstract

Orbital lymphomas are mostly B-cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphomas and account for about 50% of all orbital malignancies. We have retrospectively analyzed 48 eyes over a period of 7 years in a tertiary Eye care center in Eastern India. 25% of theses cases involved conjunctiva and 75% were orbital. CT Scan and MRI were done and incision biopsy was performed. Immunohistochemistry confirmed the type of lymphoma. Most common was low grade Diffuse Marginal B -Cell Lymphoma ( 30 eyes). All cases were sent to oncologist and whole body PET Scan was done. 25% of cases had extra orbital spread at diagnosis. Local Radiotherapy and /or systemic Chemotherapy were given. Lymphoma related death was noted in 12 cases. Prognosis depended on histological dignosis and stage at presentation. This is a retrospective study involving a large number of cases of a relatively rare disease, who were diagnosed and managed following the standard protocol and with proper follow-up.
