Abstract
Retinal imaging is becoming increasingly popular nowadays in the diagnosis, monitoring & treatment of numerous ocular diseases. Significant advances have been made in the past 2 decades to increase the viewing angle, speed & accuracy of the images. Wide field cameras have the capacity to image up to 200° of the retina, thereby, substantially reducing the time spent on obtaining photographs & minimising discomfort to the patient. However, these devices are expensive & practically unaffordable by most Ophthalmologists. So, here we present to you a relatively economical, efficient & fast method of taking good quality images of posterior pole as well as retinal periphery by using double aspheric lens & an I Phone without any other attachment. We can take images of array of retinal disorders which can really increase the patient’s understanding of the disease & help us in treatment counselling without adding an additional financial burden on patient as well as the treating physician.
