Abstract
A 29 year old female presented to us with complaints of swelling and pain around her left eye of one day duration following assault by her husband with fist of his hand. There was no history of visual disturbance in both eyes. There was no history of diplopia. Ocular examination showed normal RE with unaided visual acuity of 6/6 and normal fundus. Examination of her left eye showed downward pushing, ecchymosis and narrowing of inter palpabral aperture; Ocular movements were full with normal fundus and unaided visual acuity of 6/6. There was no infra orbital anesthesia. Imaging showed a blow out fracture of the left orbit with herniation of orbital fat into the maxillary sinus with emphysema. Opinion from Oculopalsty surgeon was obtained and was advised to observe without intervention.
