Abstract
Method: Prospective non-randomized comparative study. 80 eyes from 40 pts with Senile Cataract. Binocular Results: 3 mths post op Photopic UDVA & BCDVA and Mesopic BCDVA comparable(p>.05). Photopic UIVA 80cm (p=.22) & 60cm (p=.06) comparable. DCNVA 40cm non sig. (p=.182). PhotopicDCNVA33cm mean diff.(.07) p=.000, 95%CI .05, .089, Mesopic DCNVA 33cm mean diff (.06) p=.000, 95%CI .04, .08 were significant. Binocular defocus curve is significantly better at -3D p=.03. Meso contrast With Glare significantly better in GR2 at 5CPD mean diff -.18, p=.00, CI -.190, -.169 & 10 CPD mean diff -.37,p=.000, CI -.401, -.349.Meso contrast WoG significantly better in GR2 at 5CPD & 10CPD with mean diff .16,p=.00, CI -.176, -.150 & mean diff .37,p=.00, CI -.402, -.347 .% Halos & Glare significantly less in GR2 p< .05. Night time driving &activities significantly better in Gr 2 p<.05 Conclusion: CRV IOLs are advantageous over TRIFOCAL IOL in terms of visual range gap,Dysphotopsia & Night time activities.
