Abstract

Pleomorphic adenoma (PA) of lacrimal gland is a rare benign mixed tumour of the lacrimal gland. It usually presents with unilateral painless proptosis. Definitive treatment of pleomorphic adenoma is complete excision due to its recurrent nature and transformation into adenoid cystic carcinoma (AdCC) on incomplete excision. Myoepithelial carcinoma (MEC) of lacrimal gland is an uncommon malignant tumor of the lacrimal gland, composed of neoplastic myoepithelial cells with an infiltrative growth. It’s presence as a recurrent lesion from previously existing PA is very rare. We report a case of a 65-year-old male of Indian origin presenting with malignant MEC 14 years after primary excision of PA.
