Abstract
Angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia(ALHE) is a rare benign vasoproliferative disease involving subcutaneous tissue. A 35-year-old lady presented with swelling near the medial canthus of the right eye of 3 years duration, painless and gradually progressive. It was 3.5×2 cm oval swelling from lateral side of root of nose to the medial canthus of right eye, soft in consistency with well defined borders and smooth surface.Excision biopsy of the mass under GA was done.Histopathology showed angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia. Postoperative period was uneventful .ALHE shows proliferating arterioles and venules in addition to proliferating capillaries as seen in kimuras disease and vascular endothelium shows atypia and intracytoplasmic vacuoles which are absent in kimura’s disease, ruling out the most common differential diagnosis. No recurrence noted till 3 months. It is an often misdiagnosed condition and rare in occurrence.
