Abstract

This is a retrospective study to analyze the rate of reoperations with phacoemulsification and manual small incision cataract surgery among the residents and faculty. This study comprises of reoperations performed following cataract surgeries during 2018-2019 period. All reoperation cases were tabulated and analyzed for two groups of surgeons (residents and faculty). Within each surgeon group, reoperation rates with phacoemulsification and manual SICS were compared. The overall reoperation rate was 1.32% for residents and 0.75% for faculty. The overall reoperation rate was 1.07% for manual SICS and 0.57% for phacoemulsification.
