Abstract
Microspherophakia is a bilateral congenital abnormality of crystalline lens.Lensdislocation and pupillaryblockglaucoma can occur .Reports have treatment options like Trabeculectomy alone or with parsplanalensectomy and vitrectomy.Until today triplesurgery(PPV,PPL&AADI)has not been reported as surgical option in management of glaucoma in microspherophakia.8 eyes of 6 patients with microsperophakia requiring triple surgery were included. The median age was 28 years.5 patients had microspherophakia with secondaryangleclosure glaucoma and1had developmental glaucoma. The meanBCVA ranged preop from 6/9to2/60 to postop6/6toHM. Mean preop and postop IOP&AGM were 24mmHg,3and16mmHg,2 respectively. No intraopcomplications except1 with postop vitreoushaemorrhage and another with shallowAC.Both eyes resolved with conservative management. Ourseries revealed goodoutcome in termsof IOPcontrol. Thus, this approach may avoid patients to undergo multiplesurgeries thus minimising riskof endophthalmitis.
