Abstract
Dr. KAMAL BANDHU KAPUR
In our medical curriculum, we are taught to become great clinicians full stop. but nothing about the journey to start a private practice which is almost imperative to most of the graduates.
The challenges of this do not end with post-graduation but rise much after it. The process of setting up a practice, rising demands of standards of patient care, unhappy patients, litigations, and the growing mandate for accreditation from agencies cannot be dismissed. In this digital age, when healthcare has been accepted as a service, merely being a good clinician is not sufficient. But building a team and medico-legal precautions, digital outreach to increase footfalls and ways to increase patient satisfaction in addition to good OPD patient handling skills can take a small business rise to next level.
As a group that has seen these difficulties and has managed to rise from the ashes to multiple centers across India, we want to share our experiences on the issues that matter in real life .
