Abstract

Artificial Intelligence software is complex and intimidating, especially for a doctor who does not know computer programming. But it is definitely the future of various facets of our life. AI can assist doctors in diagnosis, predict prognosis and direct treatment. The authors show how to build your own Artificial Intelligence software for free and without complex programming. We build an AI trained with sample fundus images of various retinal diseases. The training part of the AI creation takes several hours, but the final model can analyze an image in seconds. We then test it with new fundus photos and show how it can differentiate between different retinal diseases on fundus photographs.

This software is not only free to build, but also to host on their website. It can be downloaded as python or javascript code and also be implemented on low cost standalone hardware.

Easy availability of such an AI development platform will help in rapid innovations in machine learning.
