Abstract
A 60 year old female presented with complaints of diminution of vision in right eye from 6 months.On examination vision was counting figures 2 meters, Pseudoexfoliation material was deposited on pupillary margin and anterior lens capsule with pupil dilating to 4 mm. Cataract was nuclear sclerosis grade 3. Small incision cataract surgery with Pciol with Iris hooks was performed by following surgical steps:
1. Superior Conjunctival peritomy
2. 6mm Sclero corneal tunnel made
3. 4 side ports were made and Iris hooks introduced from side ports and secured with stoppers, adequate pupillary dilatation achieved nearing 7mm
4. Capsulorrhexis done
5. Nucleus prolapse done into AC,delivered by sandwich method
6. Pciol implanted in bag
7. Iris hooks removed from side ports.
Postoperatively patient had vision of 6/9, cornea clear, pupil was round
Conclusion: Successful surgery with good visual outcome is achieved in small pupil secondary due to Pxf using iris hooks.
