Abstract
30 year old female was diagnosed to have dislocated SFIOL in right eye which was implanted 12 years ago. Her BCVA was 6/9 with +9D. We treated her with Pars Plana Vitrectomy with same SFIOL refixation internally with 6-0 prolene sutures by making bulb at either ends. With the help of intravitreal forceps SFIOL was brought to anterior chamber and 6-0 prolene suture passed through eyelet, where one end of suture was externalised to form a bulb and other end of suture bulb sits under the eyelet of SFIOL, same procedure is repeated on other side. There is no need to externalise SFIOL or to make corneal/scleral incision, therefore there are no wound related complications or astigmatism. Hence we wanted to share this technique which when mastered will have good outcomes and is also cost effective in patients with dislocated SFIOLs.
