Abstract
The pediatric third, and sixth cranial nerve palsies are quite rare and are different from adults. The evaluation of pediatric extraocular motor nerve palsies also should take a slightly different approach when compared to adults. The etiologies and management varies compared to adult cases. Pediatric cases are unique becuase one has to deal with the developing visual system which is liable to develop strabismic, deprivation, or anisometropic amblyopia. This video features causes and management of pediatric third and sixth nerve palsies .This video demonstrates periosteal fixation of Lateral rectus in pediatric third nerve palsies and splitting of lateral rectus and transposition to medial rectus. This video also demonstrates use of botox chemodenervation in pediatric acute sixth nerve palsies.
