Abstract
Method: Presenting a video of trabeculectomy using an anterior chamber maintainer(ACM). Trabeculectomy was performed using a fornix based conjunctival flap, an ACM, a standardised punch technique and is sutured using 6-0 vicryl. Duration of surgery was equivalent to classical trabeculectomy and post-op IOP reduction was remarkable.
Conclusion: Unlike classical trabeculectomy there is no AC fluctuation, reducing risk of hypotony and corneal endothelial cell loss. Flushing out of inflammatory mediators reduces chances of fibrosis and thus bleb failure.
