VT0004 – Managing a challenging case of Intravitreal Cysticercosis with Tractional Retinal Detachment

Abstract
A, 35 years old female, presented with diminution of vision in left eye for the last 4 months. Visual Acuity in left eye was hand movements close to face. On examination total tractional retinal detachment with intravitreal Cysticercosis was seen, it was confirmed on Ultrasound. Patient underwent 23 G pars plana vitrectomy with removal of cyst and management of associated retinal detachment. Post vitrectomy her vision improved to 6/ 36 at last follow up. The retina was attached. NCCT head done on follow up was suggestive of multiple tiny calcified granulomas in bilateral cerebral hemisphere. Video will demonstrate technique of cysticercus removal and managing associated tractional Retinal Detachment.
