Abstract
Perfluorocarbon liquids ( PFCL) came as a boon for old retinal detachment (RD) with massive proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PVR) and RD with giant retinal tear, as it helped to settle these difficult RDs. However it was removed and exchanged with air or silicon oil during the same procedure. Recently it has been shown to be useful for longer tamponade and exchanged after some time in a second surgery. In this video, we demonsrate few desperate one eyed cases, where PFCL was left in the eye post operatively for more than 10 days. Patient was advised strict bed rest and advised to maintain supine posture till that time. In the second surgery, direct PFCL and silicon oil exchange was done. We will showing the indications for doing this desperate procedures, nuances of the procedure, and outcomes in our cases in this video.
