Abstract
In this prospective study we included 50 patients having hypermature cataract from January 2020 to june 2021 at tertiary care centre .Among these, Patients come with Lens induced glaucoma noted. Complete eye examination with visual acuity and intraocular pressure was done before and after cataract surgery. Each patient underwent Small incision cataract surgery .A good visual acuity in other eye 25(50%) followed by lockdown due to covid -19 pandemic 15(30%) was the reason for delayed presentation. Hypermature cataract is more common in females than males (60:40). 15 (30%) case of Lens induced glaucoma out of which phacolytic 03(20%) & phacomorphic 12(80%) found. Intraocular pressure ranged between 12 to 56 mmhg preoperatively and 14-28mmhg postoperatively. Final best corrected visual acuity of 6/18 or better was seen in 15(30%) patients. Delayed presentation is associated with poor visual outcome ,it is important to educate the community about the need for early surgery.
