Purpose
To report a rare case of granular corneal dystrophy type 2
Methods
A 40 year old male with no significant family history presented to a tertiary care center with gradual diminished vision in BE( RE> LE) with LE intermittent pain
Best corrected Visual acuity RE- CF 1 mt, LE 6/9 . SLE suggested bilateral paracentral and central stromal linear lattice and granular deposits with clear intervening area RE>LE (RE having deep stromal deposits) with LE showing recurrent epithelial erosions.
Results- the patient was diagnosed as granular corneal dystrophy type 2 and was advised RE lamellar / penetrating keratoplasty and LE preservative free artificial tears for recurrent erosions.
Conclusion
Granular corneal dystrophy type 2 is a rare stromal Corneal dystrophy can be found in a wider geographic distribution and timely diagnosis and customised management can visually rehabilitate the patients
