Abstract
Here we are reporting rare case of
A 58 year old male known case of Post COVID/Steroid induced DM admitted to our hospital on18/5/21. He had Right eye Periorbital swelling and rest examination was WNL.MRI PNS with orbit was suggestive of invasive fungal sinusitis and MRI brain showed incidental Pituitary macroadenoma, later on KOH mount was positive for Mucor. He underwent Endoscopic debridement+ FESS .Post Surgery he developed LE ptosis with ophthalmoplegia CEMRI Brain showed sellar suprasellar mass compressing optic chiasma. It was most likely due to pituitary apoplexy consecutive to worsening of pituitary macroadenoma secondary to fungal intracranial invasion. Subsequently Trannasal trans sphenoidal decompression of sellar suprasellar mass was done.Above case highlights the atypical presentation of ROCM(Rhinoorbital mucor).ROCM is rapidly progressive disease with multisystemic involvement which can result in life threatening complication even with the slightest delay in diagnosis.
