Abstract
A 27 year old female 6 months postpartum with no comorbidities presented
with Chalazion of right upper eyelid posted for incision and curettage under
local anaesthesia. patient developed syncope followed by generalized tonic-
clonic seizures during incision and curettage. Seizures subsided immediately
(without any medication) after removal of the eyelid pressure. On examination
pulse rate was 30/min and feeble, BP unrecordable, gross pallor of the tongue
and mid dilated pupils. Blepharo cardiac reflex presents with bradycardia,
syncope, hypotension due to pressure on the eyelids (levator aponeurosis and
eyelid retractors) Timely diagnosis and removal of stimulus is of atmost
importance.
