Abstract
A 20-year-old male reported to the emergency ward with complaint of foreign body sensation, redness, pain and watering in right eye since 1 day. He gave history of injury to the right eye while cutting crops. On examination, his best corrected visual acuity was 6/18 in right eye and 6/6 in left eye. On slit lamp examination, there was conjunctival congestion with wooden foreign body impacted in cornea till the posterior stroma with normal depth of anterior chamber and normally reacting pupil in the right eye. Seidel’s test was negative with +2 cells in anterior chamber. Left eye was within normal limits. Fundoscopy was normal in both eyes. Topical anesthetic agent was instilled in the right eye and foreign body was removed under aseptic precautions. Topical antibiotics were started and patient was kept on follow-up. On follow-up after 2 weeks, best corrected visual acuity of both eyes was 6/6 with healed corneal wound and no reaction in the anterior chamber reaction.
