Abstract
optic disc pit is a rare congenital anomaly affecting 1:11000 people with no gender predilection that can cause serous macular detachment .It does not have any universally accepted single treatment . At present various procedures have been tried to seal the optic disc pit directly. In this we present a case of 45 year old patient with subacute onset of diminution of vision progressive since 1 month. On detailed investigation a greyish white depression over inferotemporal optic disc with macular detachment was found and diagnosed to be optic disc pit maculopathy .Here we report a visual outcome of combined surgical technique of Par plana vitrectomy with ILM inverted flap technique which was folded onto disc to cover the pit to block accumulation of fluid along with minimal delivery of endolaser . Gradual resorption of subretinal fluid was observed over 5 months and improvement in best corrected visual acuity was noted . This case requires a further followup over subsequent months .
