Abstract
A 40 years gentleman presented with history of watering, redness and presence of a mass in his right eye for 2 months. He had taken two consultations for these complaints and was given conservative management. He did not get any relief from symptoms and presented to us from an area around 200 kilometres away. On examination, he had a limbal mass encroaching on cornea having multiple nodules. Adjacent conjunctival vessels were congested. The mass raised suspicion of ocular surface squamous neoplasia but on careful examination, it appeared to be a foreign body. On probing, patient gave history of starting of complaints after a motorbike ride. After instillation of topical anaesthetic and attempting to move the mass gently, the foreign body dislodged with minimal effort and came out in toto. So, a foreign body was lying in the eye neglected for two months. Detailed history and careful slit lamp examination are must to avoid landing into any disastrous sequelae such neglect can lead to.
