Abstract

AIM: To report unrelated malignancy an eye developed in a single individual.METHODS: 39 year old lady seen in 2010 for OD recurrent intravitreal cysticercosis .Developed neovascular glaucoma and the eye lost perception to light.Underwent enucleation with histopthological examination. Pathology reported of malignant medulloepithelioma with skeletal muscle, scleral and optic nerve infiltration. Pt refused further treatment modalities. In 2021 ocular examination showed displacement of orbital implant and mass filling the anophthalmic socket. PET scan showed enhancing soft tissue lesion intraconally & right nasolacrimal duct. Underwent excisional biopsy with histopathology. The HPE reported adenoidcystic carcinoma with multiple perineural infiltration , CD117 positivity, occasional p63 reactivity & Ki67 index of 50%. CONCLUSION: Report 2 unrelated primary malignancies arising in an eye in one patient.
