Abstract
21 yr female presented with c/o gradual diminution of vision in BE since childhood. H/o similar complaints in her sibling. She was a myope with UCVA RE 6/60 LE 4/60. BCVA RE 6/24 LE 5/60. O/E, Anterior segment showed no significant abnormality. Fundus BE showed egg yolk like yellowish 2DD sized dome shaped elevated lesion in macula, OCT showed BE RPE destruction, RE lipofuscin accumulation in RPE, LE foveal thinning seen. Arden index by EOG Is RE 0.8 LE 0.6. All these findings are indicative of BE stage 4(scrambled egg stage) with LE going for atrophic stage of “BEST disease”, a rarer cause of macular dystrophy!
