Abstract
Purpose: To evaluate the functional and anatomical outcome of CAP technique in large macular holes
Participants: 30 eyes of 30 patients were included.Mean age was 67.07 years.20 were females and 10 were males.
Methods: Color visco was prepared by mixing 0.8 ml 2% HPMC+0.1 ml BBG dye . ILM flap was placed over hole by CAP technique. Spectral optical coherence tomography and clinical examination were performed before surgery and postoperatively at 1day , 1 week and 1, 3, & 6 months.
Results: Preoperative mean+/- SD visual acuity was 1.06+/-0.27 and at 6 months 0.63+/-0.28. Re-establishment of ELM at 6 months was complete in 82.8% and partial in 17.2 % cases. Re-establishment of EZ at 6 months was complete in 48.3% and partial in 51.7% cases. 23 had U type and 6 had V type closure.
Conclusions: CAP is the easiest way to prevent flap displacement at the end of fluid air exchange in temporal ILM flap surgery.
