Abstract
This cross-sectional study was conducted on 58 primary open angle glaucoma eyes to assess the Optical Microangiography (OMAG) algorithm-based macular metrics (Vessel Density, capillary Perfusion Density, FAZ area, perimeter and circularity) measured by OCTA, and to correlate them with the visual field parameters (Mean Deviation, Pattern Standard Deviation, Foveal Threshold and Central Mean Sensitivity) of the study eyes classified into Early, Moderate and Severe glaucoma based on Hodapp-Parrish-Anderson System. The OMAG measures – outer and full VD&PD worsened with increasing glaucoma severity with significant difference between the severity groups (P<0.01). The FAZ parameters showed significant correlation with CMS and FT (P<0.05) within the moderate-advanced stages. The outer annulus measures performed better in discriminating severe glaucoma from earlier stage eyes. These OCTA measures can serve as adjunct tools in detecting and monitoring progression in advanced stages of glaucoma.
