Abstract

The mineralization of the elastin and collagen rich Bruch membrane is responsible for the pathogenesis of angioid streaks. The incidence of pseudoxanthoma elasticum in combination with angioid streaks is well known, while isolated, idiopathic angioid streaks is a rare entity with an incidence of 1%. In this report we are presenting a rare combination of bilateral idiopathic angioid streaks and optic disc drusen with unilateral CNVM in a 58-year-old male. As this is a case of idiopathic angioid streaks without any systemic correlation, it is being presented for its rarity.
