Abstract
Prospective interventional study including 30 eyes of 29 patients wtith pachychoroid neovasculopathy (PNV) and 30 eyes of 28 patients with chronic CSC. All eyes received anti VEGF injection at baseline and PRN. BCVA, SRF height, DLS length, SRF area (on enface OCT in the OCTA scans) and CNV area (in PNV eyes) in sq. mm were noted in all eyes at baseline and follow- ups. The number of anti VEGFs needed at the end of 6 months was 1.5+/-0.62 in PNV eyes and 1.13+/- 0.35 in chronic CSC eyes (p 0.009).SRF height and SRF area at baseline and reduction in SRF height and area was significantly higher in CSC than in PNV. Although CNV size reduced on PNV group significantly from baseline, change in SRF height and area was significantly greater in CSC group than PNV at final follow up. We propose SRF area as a reliable parameter to monitor quantum of fluid in PNV and CSC. Significant BCVA improvement reduction in fluid can be achieved in chronic CSC with fewer injections than needed in PNV.
